HOLLAND & HOLLAND A 12-BORE "CAVALIER" MODEL BOXLOCK EJECTOR GUN, NO. 50136 28-inch chopper-lump barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, about 1/4 and 1/2 choke borings, the scroll back frame and top lever with bold scrollwork and retaining most of its original hardening colour, the maker's name signed within a scrolling banner, 14-inch well figured stock, cracked and repaired at the head, 6lb. 10oz., nitro proof, in its maker's vinyl covered case S2 The maker confirms that the gun was built in 1989. The "Cavalier" model was introduced in 1986 to much acclaim and heralded the beginning of a new era of British gunmaking. Extensive use of CNC machining was used in its manufacture before the model was quietly discontinued circa 1992. |
